"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."  Matthew 25:40

Being at "The Heart of the City", First Presbyterian is committed to opening its building, its resources and its heart to the needs of the larger Cedar Rapids community.  On any given day, you might find various community groups using our facilities to meet and conduct their business.  During the week, the Foster Care Review Board holds its hearings in our facility, 12 Step Programs meet, and on the weekend those in need can get a hot meal at the Sunday Evening Meals Program.  The Linn Area Community Food Pantry is housed in our basement and is open every weekday from 1:00 until 3:30 PM,  as well as a Thrift Shop run by the Presbyterian Women which is open on Wednesdays.  Every Thursday the entire facility is taken over by the Young Parent's Network program which provides parenting classes in English and Spanish for parents of young children and newly expecting parents, both fathers and mothers as well as grandparents.  In addition to these regular outreach activities there are also always seasonal events and programs from ARC.
