Is life meaningful or not? Cynicism and pessimism about human existence is explored by the writers of this Old Testament book. Biblical scholar Dick Osing shows us the book’s connection with the time of King Solomon, Greek thinking in the 3rd century BC, and its important message for every age.

Miller will address how the historical record of a truly human hero and anticipated return of the idealized king sustained the people of Israel in time of turmoil and exile, allowing them to live in hope.

Stories of human relationships which Jesus used to illustrate his vision of the Kingdom of God, with often bothersome conclusions, the parables will be examined as being at the heart of the Christian Faith. Biblical and extra-biblical gospels will be resource.
