Faith and Life: We believe the life of faith happens not only within the walls of this church, but in our daily living. Our members live their faith while providing leadership in the workplace, in civic, fine arts, and professional organizations, trade unions, schools, colleges, and service organizations. We have affirmed the decision to remain in “the heart of the city” as a witness to God in Christ. 

Mission: Jesus calls us to care for those in need. We seek to respond to need with compassion, addressing social, economic, and legislative issues, and patterns of injustice contributing to poverty. Located “in the heart of the city,” we offer ministries of meals, thrift shop, free bus tickets, a phone for local calls, and host the local food bank. We have sponsored Habitat for Humanity work trips to Mexico, and we partner with the Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil. 

Theological Understanding: We support open-ended questioning rooted in Scripture. We accept the Bible as the source of Christian faith, witnessing to God's self-revelation in Jesus. We recognize that its writers reflect the moral, scientific, and cultural perspectives of their day, as we reflect our own.  We are firmly rooted in the Reformed Tradition which is expressed by our understanding that grace and forgiveness proceed from God, and that although all of us fall short in our expressions of it, God's love extends to us in countless ways to engage us, support us and give us hope. 

Affirming with the Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church USA that  “God alone is Lord of the conscience,” there is no issue which may confront our community or our world which we may not become the object of our prayer and study.
